I am David is back
Hello and welcome back to I am David. Let me start by apologising. I would like to say sorry for not being here for so long. I took a break that was not needed, you may be wondering where I was. Don’t worry I will get to that.
But for now, please let me say sorry.
Now that that is right out of the way, we can start.
Where have I been
Sunning myself on the beaches of Australia, Nope. Travelling the world, seeing wonders big and small, unfortunately not. I know, enjoying a nice cup of tea at the Ritz, most definitely not.
I have been away working on PowerPoint Training Online and while I am feeling honest, I was being down right lazy. Maybe I could get away with saying I was busy working, after all it is my blog and how would you know if I was telling pork pies.
So, what exactly was I doing.
Well I was working on my niche site PowerPoint Training Online. I have been writing articles and creating videos. I have tried to get a video out every weekend, but that hasn’t always been the case. In some instances, it has been 2-3 weeks between videos. I feel that although I have been concentrating on my niche site, I have not been really pushing it. Going forward. I am going to create a calendar with a weekly schedule as I would love to be in a place where I am publishing 3 posts/videos a week. One of the problems is that I never realised exactly how much work it would take to create a post. There is a lot of behind the scenes stuff that goes on. There is video editing, recording videos, creating graphics for images and then writing the content and making sure it is somewhat decent content.
Once I get more organised I will start batching productions. What this means is I will record 5-6 videos at a time, create 5-6 graphics at a time and then piece them all together at the same time. Hopefully this will allow me to build up a list of content that I can pre-schedule.
What else have I been doing
Since I have been spending only a fraction of my time on PowerPoint Training Online. What else have I been up to. Well since my last post, I have taken a few holidays. Myself and the family have been to Spain, Germany, France and Ireland. These have been fantastic trips to see some amazing places. Spain was a sun holiday to relax and get a tan (I burnt). Germany, we went to Hamburg. Where I fell in love. What a beautiful city. Unfortunately I could not convince the rest of the family to stay. We also went to a concentration camp while here which was really sobering and interesting. France, we done the Eiffel tower (4-hour queue ☹) and we then took the boys to Disneyland Paris. We all had a great time here.
Finally, Ireland. This was a short weekend trip back to see my family and have a mini reunion with all my cousins, grand-mother, uncles and aunties. It was a lot of travel for 2 days. I think I had got about 4 hours sleep on average each night. But it was nice to see everybody. It was nice to surprise my mum as we had told her we would not be able to go over.
Apart from that, I have been working away at my regular job. We have been going through some changes, which has kept us all busy.
One final thing which has kept me away from IamDavid.info is video games. I have spent a considerable amount of time playing Nintendo’s Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. And I have also been playing on my 3DS quite a lot. It is good to enjoy the moments of peace of playing games but I got a bit carried away.
That has been my past 4-5 months. I am happy to say that I am back now.
What are the plans going forward for I am David?
The understand where I want to go with IamDavid. You need to understand why I decided to set up this site in the first place.
I wanted to create a personal journal, a diary of sorts that I could share with the world. I wanted to build a brand that I could share my success and failures. With the aim of helping people lean. It was my way of giving a little something back to the world.
As I love to be transparent. I also wanted IamDavid to be me, to be my brand that I could live off and sell. In the long run that will be done by affiliate links, book sales, public speaking among many other things.
So where do I go now? For now, I am just going to create valuable content that people can use in their own lives, businesses or workplaces.
One day I will somehow monetise my work here but now it is all about my journey’s.
My journeys are going to be based on my ventures into business, both online and offline. This is the direction in which I am taking my life now so it would make sense to share that.
I also want to continue with the I am David Book Club. For no other reason then I enjoy reading and summarising books. If somebody happens along my articles hopefully they will decide to pick up the book themselves or learn something from my notes.
That’s it for now
That’s it for today folks. I promise that I will start posting on a more regular basis from this point onwards. Stay tuned.
